It's finally summer and we've been looking forward to it for so long! However, the sun and the dryness of our skin are also a problem. We drink more in summer, but forget to quench our skin's thirst. Here are two tips on how to take good care of your skin over the summer and moisturise it sufficiently.
Why Koreans are so pretty
The first tip is closely linked to our daily skincare routine. Before we get to the tip: those of you who have read my Video about Korean facial care you have already seen that I use several layers of different products instead of just one cream. This is also called Layers. This makes it easier for me to tailor my facial care to the needs of my skin. It needs a lot, especially in summer Humidity. The sun dries it out, travelling by car and plane is hard on it and the air is sometimes very dry. Summer can be really exhausting for the skin.

1. quench the skin's thirst with aloe vera
Even if you don't layer as I described above, I recommend that you layer your skincare with Aloe vera gel to supplement. It soothes and moisturises the skin after sun exposure. Apply the gel in the morning and evening after cleansing your face. Feel free to use a thicker layer and press it into the skin. We are only used to smearing it, but by pressing it, it penetrates deeper into the skin and is therefore all the more effective. If your skin needs extra moisturising, for example after long car or plane journeys or sunburn, use the gel twice. Apply it to the skin, leave it to absorb for 2 to 3 minutes and apply another layer. Once this has been absorbed, you can use your cream. You can also use the aloe vera gel before your sun cream.
The older we are, the thirstier our skin is

In my courses, I often have women who complain about the dryness of their skin. They use oily creams because we sometimes automatically react to dry skin with oil. But older skin needs moisturising. You are welcome to use the oily things, but it is important to moisturise the skin first. Because as soon as the oil is on it, the moisture can no longer get through. Aloe vera gel can help here. Here is a link to the product I use.

2. Rose water for a cloud of moisture
My second tip is also about moisturising. The skin is grateful for a boost of freshness from time to time. So I like to use Rose water in the form of a spray. Whenever I think about it, I spray a little moisturiser on my skin. It helps the skin to stay supple and fresh. There are even celebrities who have sprays like this in every room so they don't forget to moisturise their skin. Even if you have a cream at home that moisturises your skin, this is often not enough in summer. The skin cannot get enough moisture.
My little anti-ageing bottle
Get yourself two bottles. One for your handbag for travelling and one for home or work so that you can revitalise your skin with two or three spritzes. This is also important in winter, as the heated rooms really suck the skin dry. My personal favourite is rose water. You can also use another one, but don't forget to keep your skin moisturised. This is my product:

An extra tip for cupping and scraping
For those of you who my book "Chi instead of Botox" read or think Online course I have another important tip for you. In this book or course, I will show you the Cupping and scraping the face. These are Far Eastern anti-ageing massages. These techniques ensure that more elastin and collagen are produced and that skincare products are channelled deeper into the skin and better absorbed. That's why I'd like to give you another tip here: You can integrate the facial spray well into the massage. Spray your face with it before applying the oil. Apply the oil to a damp face and then massage. This will give your skin an extra dose of moisture, which will penetrate into the deeper layers as you massage.

Hello Christina,
Are the scrapers also available for purchase somewhere in Vienna or only via your website?
Kind regards
Sabine
Dear Sabine,
I don't know of any shop in Vienna that sells them - doesn't mean they don't exist somewhere. Sorry.
Best regards,
Christina
Dear Christina, what about scraping if I have been in the sun for a while during the day (with or without sun cream)?
Do you continue your Gua SHA practice as normal in summer? Or do you have a special tip that I could follow to avoid over-stressing my skin after prolonged sunbathing? I don't want to do without scraping in summer. Thank you for your answer ???? Best regards, Helena
Dear Helena,
I continue to do this in summer, except when my skin is really glowing in the evening. However, I have to say that I tend to avoid direct sun on my face - I always wear a hat or cap. In the height of summer I don't use the Bella Bambis for cupping as they have a peeling edge, which is great in itself, but in the height of summer it's too much for me. But I don't see a problem with scraping. As I said, I'm outside a lot, but I usually protect my face from the sun.
Kind regards, Christina
Dear Christina, your books are great, keep practising. I have a question: which exercise or exercises help most effectively with marionette phalluses, I'm not making much progress. best regards and thank you Claudia
Dear Claudia,
With marionette lines, it is important to build up the cheeks well, as the sagging skin from above collects around the mouth in the form of nasolabial folds and later marionette lines. Adding volume to the cheeks (which looks like nice cheekbones and gives the face nice contours) lifts the skin slightly and relieves the area around the mouth. I would recommend the chapter "Cheeks and nasolabial folds" on page 83 in my book "Natural facelift" and would supplement it with the chapter "Sagging cheeks, double chin and neck" p. 87 to support the lower area as well.
All my love,
Christina
Hello Christina,
Thank you very much for your great tips.
I have read that some people wash off the aloe vera gel after about 30 minutes so that the skin does not feel tight.
How do you see it?
Thank you and all the best
Kerstin
Dear Kerstin,
It depends on the product. I know of some that make you feel tight and others where you don't feel anything at all. It looks like we will soon be getting such a pleasant one made from fresh aloe vera juice for our shop. (Most aloe vera cosmetic products are made from water and aloe vera powder).
Kind regards,
Christina
Thank you very much,
dear Christina, I'll just try it out for myself!
Kind regards
Kerstin
