Light summer smoothie for plump skin

It's hot and it's time to drink, drink, drink. You're looking for something refreshing. I have developed the perfect summer smoothie for myself. The list of ingredients is short and simple and, above all, local. Who wants to chase after mangoes and pineapples now when your own garden has so much to give away? I have tried many smoothies and have to say that my digestion is not always happy. For me personally, some vegetables such as cabbage are much easier to digest when cooked or steamed, and a smoothie should be something for which the ingredients are easily accessible. So, here is the smoothie that will also moisturise and nourish your skin. You can vary the amount to suit your own taste:

Cucumber
Berries
Mint
Honey
Water
(For dry skin: 1 tsp evening primrose oil)
CucumberHealthy and easily digestible, worth its weight in gold in summer. It has a strong draining effect, is rich in potassium and regulates the water balance. It helps to reduce acidity in the body, lowers blood pressure and cleanses the intestines. According to TCM, it has cooling properties, i.e. it helps the body to cool itself.
BerriesBlueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blackcurrants, ... are the anti-ageing food par excellence. They provide important protection for cells, prevent cancer, boost the immune system and reduce the risk of heart attacks. They prevent skin ageing and support hair growth. I get a bit annoyed when I read about the "superfood" goji berry. Our berries are THE superfood par excellence, and we have so much of them!
MintCooling and anti-inflammatory effect. It relieves headaches and helps digestion, which tends to become sluggish on hot days. In general, it gives the body a little kick without unnecessarily energising it. It refreshes and cools.
Honey: not just for the flavour. According to Roxy Dillan, honey, applied internally but externally, is said to reduce sun damage to the skin and body. It also has a slightly oestrogenic effect.
WaterWater supports the moisturising effect of the cucumber.
(Evening primrose oilYou can, but don't have to add it. Thanks to its unique composition, it helps with brittle fingernails and dry skin. It is particularly effective for people who are prone to neurodemitis-like symptoms. It can of course also be used externally).
At this point, I would like to emphasise once again the beneficial effect of aloe vera gel, which I have already described in my article 2 great sun protection tips from Asia have introduced. I always use it as a base before any other products. It's a real treat, especially in the evening after a hot day. So you can enjoy the summer without any regrets!
