Joint problems, sallow skin, dull hair, circulatory disorders, depression, anxiety, cataracts, brittle fingernails, flaccid connective tissue, pain and inflammation - MSM is the divine substance that can provide important support on each of these fronts and sometimes even be the only salvation.
Elfriede's story
I’d heard a lot about MSM, but I only really understood its importance after meeting Elfriede. Elfriede is a 76-year-old woman who suffered from severe rheumatism. Just a year ago, she could barely move her fingers. Today she is pain-free and dances several times a week. Her secret: MSM combined with vitamins D3 and K2.
MSM - an underestimated substance
MSM is an organic sulphur compound. Our bodies consist of 0.2 % sulphur – that is five times more than magnesium and forty times more than iron. Yet its importance is often underestimated. Elfriede’s case shows that an adequate supply of sulphur can provide significant relief from chronic ailments.
MSM for cosmetic purposes
MSM is also available as a facial gel. It has powerful moisturising, collagen-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. I use it as the first step in my skincare routine.
MSM and my health
I’ve been taking MSM powder for two months to treat my joint pain. As a psycho-kinesiologist, I place great importance on self-care and try to avoid medication. The results after eight weeks are astonishing: I’m currently completely symptom-free.
Unexpected side effects
It wasn’t just my joints that benefited. My age-related long-sightedness has improved, my period pain has disappeared and my hair is growing much faster and is healthier. Even skin irritation after a winter walk cleared up within two hours thanks to the gel.
How does MSM work?
- Relief from Pain and inflammation
- Essential for the Immune system
- Reduced Muscle pain and cramps
- Essential for the production of Collagen (skin, cartilage, connective tissue)
- Helps with Allergies
- A component of synovial fluid (helpful for Osteoarthritis)
Areas of application
MSM helps with a wide range of conditions:
- Chronic pain (arthritis, rheumatism)
- Brittle hair and nails
- Asthma and allergies
- Acne and skin ageing
- Digestive problems
- Tiredness and exhaustion
Dosage and Administration
I prefer the powder (about half to one teaspoon a day in water). As excess sulphur is excreted, it is difficult to take too much, but you should still increase the amount gradually. Mild detoxification symptoms, such as headaches, may occur during the first few days.

Hello Christina
Thanks for the report and the tip.
I once received the drops as a gift and gave them back because they were so unpalatable that I couldn't take them. Can you please write something about the flavour of the powder? Thank you very much.
Dear greetings
Eva
Dear Eva,
The powder also tastes bitter. Personally, I don't mind it. If you are sensitive, you can stir it into a juice and dilute it accordingly, so you can control it a little.
As the health effect is very important to me, I don't mind the taste at all. 😉
Kind regards,
Christina
One question please: how does the powder taste, I am quite sensitive to vomiting if it doesn't taste right!
Dear Annemarie,
then this is probably not for you. As you can read in the last comment, the powder tastes rather bitter. I don't think it's bad, but sensitive people won't be thrilled.
All my love,
Christina
I have been taking a teaspoon of pure MSM powder from Robert Franz in my mouth regularly for a few weeks and drinking water or a good diluted mother juice. I have had less joint pain since then, but my hair has started to fall out a lot again, and I also drink a home-pressed green wild herb juice (dandelion, sage, yarrow, ground ivy, nettle and others) every day. I am 76 years old and I am doing quite well. Is it better to take half a teaspoon 3 times? And does it make any difference whether I take it before meals or directly with meals?
Dear Claudia,
I would not take the powder pure in the mouth. It's better to dissolve it in water and drink it. Pure it is already in a very high concentration, even if you drink water afterwards. I have never heard of it causing hair to fall out. They grow much faster, just like fingernails. It's a good idea to drink it in several portions throughout the day. And above all, it's important to drink and not swallow the powder.
It's great that it helps with the joint pain. It is a great remedy. It is recommended to drink it with meals. Personally, I also take it in between meals as I don't drink directly with food (TCM).
Best wishes and all the best,
Christina
Hello Christina,
Are you still taking MSM? or only as a cure?
And the link for the powder doesn't work, what is your recommendation?
Dear Stephi,
I only take it as a cure. I took it for a relatively long time - as described in the article because of my joints. I'm very pleased that they now seem to be completely healthy, thanks in large part to MSM. So now I only take it from time to time or when I've been doing intensive sport.
I'll replace the link straight away, thanks for the tip. You have to keep updating the links.
Best regards,
Christina
