Facial yoga against sagging cheeks 2/3 (+video)
by Christina | May 14, 2019 | Blog |
So here is the second part of the facial yoga exercises that help against sagging cheeks. Under this link you will find the first partif you haven't read it yet. I recommend that you start there, as you will find a lot of important information about the nature of this area. There is also a video on YouTube for each part, which I will link to below.
The exercises have obviously gone down well with you. That makes me happy. There was also one of the feedback emails in which a user wrote to me that she feels that her lips have also become fuller. I wanted to tell you that any exercise you do for your face will have an effect on your whole face.
The face is small and criss-crossed by countless muscle cords that stretch in all directions. It is not possible to train just one area - the whole face is involved. Of course, it is better to do something for the whole face. My Book and my Online course. But you can also do the programme from this three-part free series and expect to benefit your whole face.

Sagging cheeks pull down the corners of your mouth
I would like to mention one more thing that is important and that hardly anyone thinks about when it comes to sagging cheeks. They pull the corners of the mouth downwards, which has two effects. Firstly, you simply look sad. And it doesn't matter whether you're in a good mood or not. I can remember this feeling very well before I started with Facial yoga and Asian facial massages when I started. It was so weird to be in a good mood and constantly hear the question "What's wrong?" I didn't always want to look sad.
How firmer facial contours improve your mood
But there is another side to this. It has been scientifically proven that our body and facial "posture" have an effect on our soul. Facial expression is therefore not a one-way street, meaning that you don't just look the way you feel. The path also leads in the other direction - you feel the way you "look". So if the corners of your mouth are turned downwards, your soul thinks you are sad. If your face is tighter, it is sending positive signals inwards. I don't mean that your face has to be completely smooth. But I would like you to experience the feeling of tightened facial muscles. The face becomes firmer through Facial yoga It simply feels really secure and indescribably good.

If you don't have time for regular practice or would like to do something in addition to your facial yoga programme, you can incorporate the following three exercises into your day:
3 facial yoga exercises for in between
In this section, I will give you three very simple yet effective exercises. They are so easy that you can - and actually should - do them from time to time. All you need is a pen. It's easy to do them alongside your work at your desk, while watching TV or reading.
That's the whole point. It should be doable for you. It should be possible. These exercises also work without a mirror and without taking up all your attention. So grab a pen and join in!
Hold pen
Place the pencil on the area above your upper lip. Hold it for about 30 seconds. In order to do this, your lower jaw must support your upper lip. Simple but effective.

Lift pen
Now put one end of the pen in your mouth and try to lift the other end with the force of your lower jaw. Do the exercise for 30 seconds. You can raise and lower the pen again and again or you can hold it in the raised position for longer. However, make sure that your jaw does not tense up unnecessarily. By repeatedly raising and lowering it, you ensure that the muscle pumps and can therefore release tension.

Roll pin
Slide the pen between your lips. Now roll it back and forth by moving the upper and lower jaw in opposite directions. This means that when the upper jaw moves forwards, the lower jaw moves backwards and when the lower jaw moves forwards, the upper lip moves backwards. Again, I recommend 30 seconds.

Relax the jaw
Please do not forget - as in the first part explained - to relax your jaw in between. The exercises are strenuous if you are not used to consciously moving this area. Give your jaw muscles a little massage, tap them out, relax them well. In the third and final part of this series, I will show you a massage that works deep into the tissue and not only provides more elastin and collagen, but also improves blood circulation and relaxes the muscles.
How long and when to practise facial yoga
You may have already noticed that I recommend doing each exercise for 30 seconds. If you feel that you have already built up your muscles a little, you can increase this to 40-45 seconds. After 50 seconds, the whole thing becomes very intense. Everyone is different, but I would ask you to listen to your body and not overdo it.
I think the best time for facial yoga is in the morning. You can start straight after your facial care routine. This will also wake you up, get rid of any puffiness that has built up in your face overnight and improve your circulation. You can do exercises like the three above at any time.
