Facial yoga against sagging cheeks 2/3 (+video)

Here is the second part of the facial yoga exercises designed to combat sagging cheeks. If you haven’t seen the first part yet, I’d recommend starting there, as it contains important information about the anatomy of this area.

Feedback on the first part

Any exercise you do for your face will have an effect on your overall appearance. The face is criss-crossed by countless muscle fibres – when you exercise one area, the others automatically follow suit. If you want comprehensive results, I recommend my book or my online course.

Sagging cheeks pull down the corners of your mouth

An important point that many people overlook: sagging cheeks make us look sad, even when we’re in a good mood. These „false“ facial expressions also send negative signals to our mind. Science confirms the „facial feedback hypothesis“: you feel the way you „look“. So firmer contours also put you in a better mood.

3 facial yoga exercises for in between

These exercises are designed so that you can easily incorporate them into your daily routine – whether you’re sitting at your desk, reading or watching television. All you need is a pen.

Exercise 1: Holding a pen

Place the pen horizontally on the area above your upper lip. Hold it there for about 30 seconds using only the pressure from your facial muscles.

Exercise 2: Lift the pen

Put one end of the pen in your mouth and lift the other end using only the strength of your lower jaw. Do this for 30 seconds. Repeatedly lifting and lowering the pen makes the muscles „pump“ and relieves tension.

Exercise 3: Rolling a pen

Slide the pen between your lips and roll it back and forth by moving your upper and lower jaws in opposite directions. Recommended duration: 30 seconds.

Important tips for use

Don’t forget to relax your jaw from time to time. Give yourself a quick massage or gently tap the muscles. Once you’ve built up your muscle strength, you can increase the duration to up to 45 seconds. The best time to do this is in the morning, straight after your skincare routine – it reduces puffiness and helps you feel more alert.
